UTO Sunday

Mark your calendar for UTO Sunday, May 21. The United Thank Offering is a ministry of the Episcopal Church for the mission of the whole church. It began in 1889 by the women’s auxiliary in
support of female missionaries to serve as teachers and nurses. Initially the focus was on prayers and offerings of thanksgivings for one’s blessings. The work of the UTO was fundamental to expanding the mission of the Episcopal Church. To this day the mission remains the same, promoting the spiritual practice of gratitude. Here at St. Mark’s we continue to collect our thankful coin offerings on the Sunday closest to Ascension Day, this year May 21. Blue boxes and envelopes are available in either narthex. YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
